Konami Drops Frogger Slots - Comparison to Rival's Frogged

Frogged Slots
The arcade classic Frogger is suddenly gaining a lot of interest in the slots world. Two months ago, Rival Gaming released Frogged online slots, which closely follows the arcade game's theme of frogs crossing busy highways and dangerous rivers. Now, Konami has launched a Frogger slot machine in land-based casinos.

Konami showcased what Frogger had to offer at last year's G2E convention. But now that the machine is officially on casino floors, players can try this arcade-based slot. Below you can see how Konami's Frogger slot machine compares to Rival's Frogged in several categories.

Frogged's Reels Use the Highway

One immediate difference between Frogged and Frogger is how the reels look. Frogged incorporates the entire highway, making this game look just like the arcade classic the whole time that you're playing. Frogger, on the other hand, uses traditional reels with the highway barely visible in the background.

These Games Have Different Symbols

Rival's Frogged uses symbols that closely relate to the arcade game, including several different cars, a bulldozer, alligator, fly, turtle, rattlesnake and log. Frogger uses symbols that are more related to a frog's habitat, including a butterfly, mushroom and turtle. While Frogger's symbols look good, you may like Frogged symbols better because they deal more with the arcade version.

Frogged and Frogger Have Different Bonus Rounds

Konami's Frogger bonus round is really impressive because it includes multiple screens. When you trigger the bonus round, a bulldozer pushes the reels off the screen. You'll then press the Spin button to help the frog cross the road. If the frog makes it across the road, you then help it cross the river for an even bigger bonus prize.

Rival's Frogged gives you free spins whenever 3 or more bulldozers appear on the reels. If you get another 3 bulldozers during the free spins, you'll trigger a river bonus round where flies are sticky wilds. Out of these two bonus rounds, Konami's Frogger has the more-detailed and fun bonus.

Which Slot Is Better?

Both of these slots games are well-designed and have their good points. So we can't definitively say that you should choose one over the other. In the end, this all comes down to whether you want to play a land-based slot machine or online slot. Frogged is available at US-friendly online casinos through PC, Mac, smartphone and tablet. Frogger has already been rolled out across many US brick-and-mortar casinos. You're in for a real treat if you get a chance to play either game.
